I have been working part-time in Educational Development since January 2002, after taking a career break to bring up my two children. My job involves developing and supporting research into learning and teaching in higher education throughout the University. I was also responsible for managing the survey of research into learning and teaching at Plymouth university, which culminated in the development of a research database, which is available via www.pedres.net
I can be contacted for advice on any aspect of pedagogic research, from project planning and funding, to dissemination. I am hoping to produce a number of web-based information resources for aspiring researchers, which will aim to provide answers to some of the more frequently-asked questions. I will also be running a series of pedagogic research workshops aimed at encouraging and supporting teaching and learning research. Further details of these workshops, and how to apply, can be obtained from staff development (www.plymouth.ac.uk/staffdevelopment).
I have a DPhil in Education, focusing on the teaching and learning of controversial environmental issues in geography. I have teaching experience in further and higher education, and currently teach a number of sessions on the LTHE course.
